I will be senior at Clarke County High School this year. I have been in DECA for three years now, also as a member of the Region one. I enjoy participating in cheerleading in the fall and track and field in the spring. My favorite time during sports, are the Clarke County football games on Friday nights! I am always up for giving back to my community and doing anything I can in my spare time. I am also a member of the National Honors Society. I have loved every experience I have had with DECA and I am always looking for new members to talk about DECA with! I am so grateful that I have met so many new friends throughout my DECA trips and experiences. My favorite DECA memory was at the 2012 SLC when my name was called as a new member of the Virginia State Action Team! DECA has prepared me for more then I could ask for. I have been waiting for this year to start so I can serve Virginia DECA! Lets Dive Deeper this year Virginia DECA!
Hey Virginia DECA! I am a junior at Broad Run High school in northern Virginia. I have been an active DECA member for 3 years and am very excited to be serving as your state Reporter this year! Amazing is the only word I can find to describe Virginia DECA and the year ahead of us! A little bit about me: I was born in Chicago (go Bears!), I play soccer, I am involved in many clubs and activities including Key club and church groups, and I love shopping, traveling, and of course DECA! There are many things that make me love DECA, but some of my top reasons are competing, meeting DECA members from around the world, and of course the fun! I can’t wait to meet all of you and to see how you will Dive Deeper this year with Virginia DECA!
Regional Vice Presidents
First off, hello and nice to meet you! My name is Gillian Chugg and I am Virginia DECA’s Region 1 Vice President. I am a senior at Dominion High School and the Academy of Science and I cannot wait for another fun-filled year of DECA, sports, friends, and (of course) school! I am very involved inside and outside of school—I manage and play field hockey, I participate in everything DECA, I do cancer research, I love to play lacrosse, and I am a Wyld Life leader for the local middle school students. If you asked someone to describe me, he or she would say I was extremely positive and hardworking. Three fast facts about me are: I have a slight obsession with Pretty Little Liars, I wish I loved by the beach, and I have a major sweet tooth! Lastly, what I am most excited for this year is DECA!
Hey Virginia DECA! My name is Allie Lerner and this year I have the privilege to serve as your Region 2 Vice President. I attend Fairfax High School. Freshman year I joined DECA and immediately developed a love for it. And now, as a senior, I can honestly say this love has done nothing but grow. At Fairfax, I currently am a senior class officer, run track, and am a member of peer mediation. In my free time, I love to travel, listen to music (especially Jason Mraz!), watch movies, and most of all, be with friends and family. I cannot wait to work with all of you this year and make Virginia DECA the absolute best it can be, get ready to DIVE DEEPER!
Hello Virginia DECA! I am Lexy Parsons and I will proudly be serving as your Region 3 Vice President this year. I have been a DECA member since my freshman year and it holds many of my favorite high school memories. I attend Kecoughtan High in Hampton where I will be enjoying my senior year. Outside of DECA, I run cross country and track for my high school, serve as the chair of Hampton Youth Commission (youth section of city council), sail through Venturing, and hold a part time job at my community pool as a lifeguard. My favorite quote and one that fits my personality very well is, "Do one thing every day that scares you" because life truly is precious and there really is no time to be afraid. I am very excited for the fantastic year we are going to have and can't wait to meet as many of you as possible!
I am a senior at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia and will be serving as the Virginia DECA Region 4 Vice President. This will be my third year as an active DECA member. My favorite DECA memory was at SLC 2012. Having the opportunity to meet new people, campaign for office, all while competing made it a memory I will never forget. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, traveling, and working. Virginia DECA, I’m excited to serve you this year and see how we are going to Dive Deeper!
