VA DECA State Action Team
Meet the 2013-2014 State Action Team
Emily Daley email@example.com President @Emdales23
Hey there Virginia DECA! I will be a senior at Broad Run High School this year. I have been an active member of DECA for all four years of high school, and I cannot wait to see the amazing experiences this year will bring. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, running, and shopping. Community involvement is very important to me, and I also take part in many different clubs including National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta. My strongest passion, however, is for DECA and everything this association does. From the travel, to the networking, and even the confidence DECA allows many students to build, no other organization can compare. Over the next year I hope to get to know all of you, Virginia DECA, and give back by leading the state to be the best we can be! So let’s take this year and Make It Count with Virginia DECA!
Jack Chapman firstname.lastname@example.org Executive Vice President @jfchapmaniii
DECA! I, Jack Chapman, am a senior at Oakton High School in Vienna, VA. I am a three-year DECA member, motivated and prepared for whatever my future brings me. I have played sports like football, basketball, and lacrosse for Oakton in the past, but I am ready to turn to a new, more professional, chapter in my life now. Virginia DECA: we will "make it count" this year, because this is our year!
Vinnie Liberi email@example.com Secretary @Vinnylibrary
Hey Virginia DECA! I am Vinnie Liberi and I’m a senior at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia. I’ve been actively involved in DECA for all four years of high school and I’m excited to be the new State Secretary for 2013-2014. There are so many opportunities presented to you this year so I hope you make the most of each one and “Make it Count.” DECA provides the perfect environment for you to network and to interact with other Virginia and International DECA members. A little about me, I’ve lived in Australia, Italy and Mexico and I’m currently an officer in N.H.S. I play rugby and am very active with other sports. One of my favorite quotes is “We often miss opportunity because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” With this in mind I hope you all partake in every opportunity DECA provides you. This is not just another year, this is your year! I look forward to the awesome year ahead!

Along with DECA, I play soccer, sail, participate in youth group, babysit, and am an NHS officer. I love to stay busy, meet new people, and travel. I spend my free time, with friends and family having fun. DECA has brought me so many great high school memories, from ICDC in Salt Lake City and Anaheim to being named a state officer. DECA has taught me so many things, and helped me meet many amazing people. I hope that I can make DECA a great experience for you, just like it has been for me. I can’t wait for a great year with all of you and Virginia DECA! Let's make it count!
Taryn Cornman firstname.lastname@example.org Region 3 Vice President @Taryn_deca
Hey Virginia DECA! I’m Taryn Cornman; the Region 3 Vice President for the 2013-2014 year! I am currently a senior at Bruton High School along with a four year active DECA member. DECA has touched my life in more ways than I ever believed possible, and provided me with my favorite high school memories. Joining DECA as a freshman, I never imagined that I would become success within this organization and have the passion and dedication that I now hold. Hearing that I was elected as a Virginia DECA State Officer has been the best moment I have ever experienced, and I hope I can help members of Region 3 find their place in DECA as well. My time is mainly consumed of DECA, family, friends, school, and traveling. I’m so excited to experience what my term as an officer has in store, and I can’t what to make my senior year count with Virginia DECA! I’m excited to see the great things Virginia DECA will do this year and I hope to network with as many of you as possible! Have a great year!

This will be my fourth year in DECA, second year as a chapter officer, and first year as a state officer. Looking back at my high school experience thus far all of my best memories have been DECA related and I look forward to creating more.
