Step 1: Determine your membership goals for the year by checking your membership goals.
Step 2: Recruit members - students, advisors, alumni and professional members all go towards your awards and incentives!
Step 3: Submit members into the membership site and pay all invoices!
New Chapter Membership Goals: Star|11 Members Super Star| 16 Members Platinum| 21 Members
Competition Wild Card Incentive - Chapters will receive "wild card" competition entries at SLC.
Chapters with 50 or fewer members in 22-23 will earn 1 wild card entry per 5 additional members on your roster this year.
Chapters with 51+ members in 22-23 will earn 1 wild card entry per 10 additional members on your roster this year.
*A Wild Card competition entry may used in any event offered at the State Leadership Conference.
*An entry can be an individual or a team.
*All member types count towards earning wild card entries.
*The cutoff for earning wild card entries is January 19, 2024.
Blazer Challenge - Chapters may earn up to 2 DECA Blazers this fall by adding professional and alumni members to their rosters!
*Chapters will earn (1) Blazer for every 20 alumni or 20 professional members on their submitted roster.
*Chapters can earn a max of 2 DECA Blazers during this incentive period.
*Chapters can maximize their incentive by adding 20 Alumni and 20 Professional members earning them 2 Thrive spots at ICDC.
*The cutoff for earning DECA Blazers is December 1, 2023.
Diamond Chapter Recognition - Diamond Chapters are the highest level of recognition for membership efforts.
*Chapters must achieve Platinum level + two areas of DECA's Membership Campaign
*Chapters will receive: ribbons at SLC; Glow Star at SLC; Mystery Swag Item at SLC; Priority Seating at SLC; and website recognition
*The cutoff for earning recognition at the State Leadership Conference is January 19, 2024.
Platinum Chapter Recognition - Platinum Chapters have increased their overall membership by at least 15 members.
*All member types count toward a chapter's increase over last year.
*Chapters will receive: ribbons at SLC; Glow Star at SLC; Mystery Swag Item at SLC; and website recognition
*The cutoff for earning recognition at the State Leadership Conference is January 19, 2024.
Super Star Chapter Recognition - Super Star Chapters have increased their overall membership by at least 10 members.
*All member types count toward a chapter's increase over last year.
*Chapters will receive: ribbons at SLC; Glow Star at SLC and website recognition
*The cutoff for earning recognition at the State Leadership Conference is January 19, 2024.
Star Chapter Recognition - Star Chapters have increased their overall membership by at least 5 members.
*All member types count toward a chapter's increase over last year.
*Chapters will receive: ribbons at SLC and website recognition
*The cutoff for earning recognition at the State Leadership Conference is January 19, 2024.
Chapters Maintaining Membership Recognition - All chapters in VA DECA contribute to our success and ability to offer more students opportunities. The following chapters have maintained and/or increased their membership from last year.
