Aaron Van Allen, VA DECA President 2008-2009
DECA is an international organization for secondary students enrolled in Marketing Education. DECA is a co-curricular, student-centered organization designed as an integral part of the classroom instructional program of marketing education to provide activities that will motivate students to learn marketing competencies that will prepare students to become skilled, employable workers in the field of marketing.
Virginia DECA is proud to be the largest state delegation with over 13,000 members and counting. That's why Virginia DECA is "Where the Magic Happens!"
Chapter Spotlight
Turner Ashby DECA hosted "The Harlem Rockets" on November 8th. By hosting this event, the students learned event planning skills and earned money for the chapter's community service activities, SLC, and ICDC!

SONAR was great. The Southern Region Leadership Conference just conclued in Nashville, TN. The conference had a great blend of powerful general sessions, packed workshops, strong leadership sessions, competition tips, entertainment, and a great closing keynote speaker.
